Let’s talk about websites.
You have invested in your business in so many ways. You have bought or made your products, designed and produced packaging, created and agonised over the perfect branding. Maybe you have invested in a marketing strategy and content creator.
Maybe you have even hired a whole team for a photoshoot; models, photographer, hair and makeup, and so on. You then update your website to showcase your new products or services and sit back, waiting for the orders to come in. You have put everything into creating this business and it all looks great; you have invested time, money and energy into making it a success.
But why is none of this converting into sales? (or fewer than you thought)
There are many reasons why your website may actually be working against you. I still see websites that aren’t optimised for mobile (yes, really!), or ones that don’t have clear Call To Action points. The ones that really pain me are when you “add to cart” only to want to continue shopping but there is no option to do that. You click back and lose the item in your cart!
It doesn’t take a lot for a customer to abandon their cart on your website. You need to regularly take a look behind your website to see where things are going wrong. Use your website like a customer would.
